The ministry model remains largely the same internationally: men and women in prison complete the free Bible study curriculum, and Instructors correct student lessons, returning each one with a letter of encouragement.In developing countries, deplorable prison conditions present added challenges. Severe overcrowding, limited food rations, poor sanitation and unjust treatment lead to malnutrition, disease and desperation. CBI Instructors hand-deliver lessons and provide basic necessities, and their tangible service, coupled with the good news of Jesus Christ found in the CBI studies, offers hope to prisoners in need.
